Content is king and it’s not enough to just have a blog. Bloggers, business owners, and marketers alike all need fresh content ideas to keep their readers interested. Luckily, there are plenty of topics that you can write about that will get people talking and sharing your content with others. Here are some great content ideas for blog posts that will help you stand out from the crowd:
1. Trending Topics
In order to keep people interested, it’s important to bring them the information they can use. The best way to do this is to have them “stick” with you and your content. One way to accomplish this is to keep on top of the top topics in the industry and use this information to write topics about them. There are always trends happening in the world of business, whether it’s related to technology, marketing, or even social trends. If you use this information to write about relevant topics, your audience will be sure to follow your content when it comes out.
2. Case Studies
These types of content are a dime a dozen on the internet, but the audience for them tends to be more professional and business-oriented. So your audience should be mostly men aged 40 to 60 with a very specific role and industry. These people are usually doing a specific thing and they want to share their successes or mistakes with others in hopes of helping them avoid the same mistakes.
If you are interested in doing case studies, then you might try talking to a couple of employers in your industry and figuring out how they did it. You can try and describe the process you went through when you were hired and then summarize how your boss should have avoided the mistakes you made. You can do this in the third person or first person.
People love to get free advice from experts, but they also love being challenged. When you make the course of a blog post into a tutorial, you give people the opportunity to use your expertise to solve a problem.
Meditation has been a hot topic in the wellness community for years and it’s finally getting the mainstream attention it deserves. Meditation is one of the most talked-about topics in the world right now, and it’s great that its popularity isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
5. Blogging Tips
Writing is a way to help people and businesses reach their goals. By writing helpful, topical tips, you can keep your readers informed and up-to-date. Try to provide advice on topics that will help others achieve success. For example, if you’re an accountant, you can write helpful articles for business owners and others interested in the personal finances process.
6. Weight loss
Blogging is all about sharing your wisdom and knowledge, and you can accomplish this by sharing your secrets to weight loss. Do you have a tip to share about weight loss? Share with others how to keep the pounds off!
7. Business updates
Keeping an online audience updated is essential, but what about your business updates? You can write a post that discusses the latest and greatest business news, and how this could affect your business in the future. It’s important to keep an open mind and to give people new information to keep them on your side.
Why? Life hacks are easy and exciting ways to spice up your content. You don’t have to be an expert to write a life hack post. For example, here’s a great one on how to write a sign that’s guaranteed to get attention.
9. Occasions and Festivals
The most valuable piece of content that I’ve written was a highly effective review of the 40 Best Art and Photograph Galleries in London. I compiled over 150 images from the top galleries around the city to create the post. It was full of fun information and super useful for event planners and marketers. In fact, the post sold out almost immediately after its release and attracted over 20,000 views within a few days.
Whether you’re writing about a specific art exhibition or event, finding an interesting angle is always going to be an important part of content marketing. I did my research by going to a few exhibitions and then narrowing it down to 10 galleries in order to create the post.
10. Fun and Facts
Since there’s not much competition out there for posts that are a little out of the ordinary, it makes sense to spice things up with content that’s more fun and interesting. For example, you can have fun looking for random facts about your industry or any other industry you’re interested in. If you’re an accountant, you can do a deep dive into some of the more interesting and hilarious accountant funny stories you could come up with, or you could search for videos about easy, simple formulas you can use in your own taxes. Either way, make it fun, interesting, and funny.
Telling stories about long-forgotten deities is a great way to increase the popularity of your content. A person may not want to delve into ancient mythological stories, but they may be interested in the content you post on their relevance to their lives. You can even post a brief summary of the myth before you post your version of it, so readers don’t have to go searching for answers.
Content is the foundation of any online business and a successful blog is an essential part of running a successful business. Content-writing is a job that requires a lot of time and effort and it can become quite dull, but if you have a good knowledge of a particular niche, you’ll find that some topics will appeal to you more than others. If you can’t come up with good ideas, you can always ask your readers, but even that won’t guarantee good content.
